Honesty And Thorns

Honesty And Thorns 2010

Honesty And Thorns 2010

Honesty And Thorns is the third full length CD album I have recorded, officially released on Friday 8th January 2010. It’s a solo project, except for a guest appearance by Jimmy Carlyle on the mandolin in The Sound of Falling in Love at First Sight.

An acoustic adventure through life’s lushest, and most arid, landscapes, Honesty And Thorns takes you on a journey of discovery dealing with modern relationships of all kinds. It reflects the myriad ways that modern life can be viewed. It includes at least one love song, a few anti-love songs, a new adaptation of the Hebrew Song At The Sea, and more besides. Come along for the journey, as this album plumbs the depths and comes back looking for more.

You can listen to the whole album, as well as download it from calumcarlyle.bandcamp.com

You can buy the CD directly from me, using the Paypal link in the left menu, or you can buy it from CDBaby.com. You can also download it through online music services such as iTunes or Amazon.com, if you’re that way inclined.

The Sound Of Falling In Love At First Sight

Here’s a video of Jimmy and me performing The Sound of Falling in Love at First Sight at Via House in Sandwick, Orkney on 24 July 2008. Thanks to Tim Holehouse who recorded it on his handheld camera. This song appears on the Honesty And Thorns CD but this particular version is unavailable elsewhere.
